From this week forward we will be posting "small actions and decisions to take this week"! Here is the first ever list! It will consist of 3 or more rules. At the end of each month we will post the list of all the "small actions and decisions" you took this month!
Note for this segment: We encourage you to take these actions every day and always, but you can give a twist with this schedule we will be posting! Remember small means big in recycling, everything starts out little and needs your intention and effort to grow! Taking this "small actions and decisions" can one day have a big impact in the planet, it can even change it!
Week of smart shopping:
1. Reusable bags, reusable plates and silver ware- When going to the store take reusable bags. Be sure to tell the cashier to pack your things in the bag you brought and not in the plastic bags! Avoid buying paper plates and plastic silver ware. By doing this you save a bunch of plastic bags and reduce the trash produced in your home.
2. Pay attention to the label!: If it says 100% recycled material choose it over other brands, choose less percentage over brands made on no recycled material.
3. If there is no way to replace an item that you want for something that can be recycled or is better for the planet think creative. What can you do with this item after you are done using it or when it becomes old? When you get your answer and inspiration write it down somewhere so that when the time comes you know not to throw it away!
